To all our community members with propane:
With an unprecedented amount of propane account changes with tank removals being seen throughout Dukes County, we are looking for some assistance to gather information on tanks that may be left on your property after the change over. While it is your responsibility to notify the outgoing provider, we recognize that people have had some issues making contact. Please use the link to fill out an Unpermitted Propane Tank Reporting Form provided by your local Fire Departments (Dukes County Fire Chiefs Association) in an effort to rectify the unpermitted tanks within our communities. The information will be provided to each Fire Department in order to enforce proper code compliance regarding propane tanks that have been taken out of service on your property.

In order to protect the community as a whole, it is important to keep everyone updated on the latest information regarding COVID-19. The following information is brought to you by the Martha's Vineyard Regional Emergency Management Association, Martha's Vineyard Boards of Health, Martha’s Vineyard Medical Reserve Corps, and the Martha's Vineyard Hospital. Please read on for information regarding Massachusetts’ rollback to Reopening Plan Phase 3: Step 1, vaccinations, community spread on Martha’s Vineyard, and additional resources.
We are urging everyone to continue to follow all of the COVID-19 safety guidelines to protect themselves and the community. Please wash your hands for at least 20 seconds as often as possible, wear a mask when in public, and socially distance at least 6 feet from others at all times. Daily disinfection of surfaces is encouraged. Try to interact with only your own household. This is not a time to travel and visit friends or family. Monitor yourself for symptoms and if you feel sick isolate at home and get tested as soon as possible. Proper ventilation/air flow are important and encouraged when indoors with others. When traveling in a vehicle with another person, masks must be worn by all parties and open windows are strongly advised.

NEW STAY-AT-HOME ADVISORY & FACE COVERING REQUIRMENTS
There are new Stay-at-Home Advisories, Face Mask Requirements, and Gathering Restrictions that everyone should adhere to in order to slow the spread of COVID-19.
Stay at home between the hours of 10 PM and 5 AM. During this time only leave for essential services.
Everyone over the age of 5 MUST wear a mask in ALL public places (indoors & outdoors) even if able to socially distance. Masks are encouraged for children 2-5 years old. When carpooling with someone not in your household masks are required and ventilation is encouraged.
Indoor gatherings must have no more than 10 people. Outdoor gatherings must have no more than 10 people. Face coverings and social distancing of at least 6 feet are still required. All gatherings must end and attendees disperse by 9:30 PM.

NEW ADMINISTRATION
Please join us in welcoming the newest members of the Oak Bluffs Fire-EMS Department. Oak Bluffs Police Chief Erik Blake is our Public Safety Director. He will become an administrative executive for the Fire Department and make decisions based upon the recommendations provided. Retired Tisbury Fire Chief John Schilling is our Civilian Technical Advisor. While in this role he will be in the Station four days a week, while overseeing day-to-day operations and training. He will also make recommendations on the oversight of the Fire Department. We look forward to their expertise as we continue to serve the community with pride during this transition.
FAREWELL INTERIM FIRE-EMS CHIEF GREENE
On April 6, 2020, Martin Greene left his retirement to assist us through a transitional period as our Interim Fire-EMS Chief. Thanks to his guidance and wisdom we are an even stronger Department than before. His fairness, great attitude, and sense of humor will be missed. On behalf of the Oak Bluffs Fire-EMS Department we would like to extend our sincerest gratitude for the time and energy he has put in to help us these past six months.

Due to COVID-19, there will not be Blood Pressure checks at the Oak Bluffs Fire-EMS Station until further notice. Even if your Primary Care Physician (PCP) is telling you to come, please do not. We wish to keep everyone safe during these difficult times.
The Oak Bluffs Firemen’s Civic Association (O.B.F.C.A.) has made the difficult decision to cancel the annual August fireworks display this year due to the COVID-19 pandemic.
The Department of Public Health's Stay at Home Advisory remains in effect and gatherings of 10 or more people remain prohibited until Monday, May 18, 2020.
The CPR/Choking First Aid Certification Classes (May 8, 9, & 11, 2020) have all been cancelled until further notice.

The Oak Bluffs Fire-EMS Department would like to welcome Interim Fire-EMS Chief Martin Greene. Beginning Monday, April 6, 2020, he will start his six-month appointment with our Department. This transitional period is to facilitate the implementation of a new permanent Fire-EMS Chief. He will reside on Martha’s Vineyard for the duration of his term. Chief Greene is married to his wife Lisa, and has several children and grandchildren.
In addition to serving as the Fire Chief of the Town of Bourne, Chief Greene brings with him a wealth of experience as an instructor at the Massachusetts Firefighting Academy and the Barnstable County Fire Rescue Training Academy with emphasis on their Fire Officer Training Program. He also has extensive experience as a Paramedic and Hazardous Materials/Environmental Protection Specialist. He has a proven history of experience working for the Massachusetts Department of Fire Services, serving departments of all sizes.
Chief Greene will be a valuable asset to our Department in analyzing the structure of Fire and EMS services, and strengthening our in-house talent and professionalism.
We are excited to have him aboard and are pleased to be welcoming him to Oak Bluffs.

In response to the COVID-19 emergency, the Oak Bluffs Board of Selectmen and Board of Health, along with all of the Island Towns, have adopted a business restriction and “Stay at Home Order” to be effective from March 25, 2020 through May 4, 2020.
The key points of this “Stay at Home Order” are:
